Last year, Teller Novel, a next-generation novel submission application, held a contest for story drafts for GONZO's new anime.
This time, any style, a voice production business, is holding an open audition for voice actors for the animation based on the winning work.

 

The winners of this audition will be decided by votes from the general public.

A collaboration between Gonzo Inc. and Terror Novel, Inc. which operates the novel submission application "Terror Novel", held a story drafting contest based on the illustrations of "SAMURAI cryptos" from September 20, 2022.

【特別対談動画】横山愛さん×石川真一郎氏

◯エミー賞を受賞した「アフロサムライ」でキャラクターデザインと総作画監督を務めたアニメーター飯島弘也氏と株式会社Gonzoの代表取締役である石川真一郎氏が以前行った対談の内容を公開させて頂きます。是非ご覧ください。

石川
こちらからは侍のイラストとだけ発注させていただいたのですが、どのような発想でこのコンセプトに至ったのでしょうか？

飯島
時代物をやりたかったというところがあって、アニメだと戦国か幕末が多かったので、本当の時代劇風の世界観の中で、武将というよりは侍という感じなのだけれど、実はそいつが魔物だったら、的なところが一つ。あとTV版のデビルマンでやっていた、魔が寝返っている的な設定がコンセプトというか。

石川
確かにデビルマンのインスピレーションと言うか、感じますよね。

飯島
デビルマンというとどうしても漫画版のハードな方が取り上げられるんですが、あれはあれでもちろん完成されているのですが、子供の頃見ていたTVのデビルマン的な感じで。

石川
もっと娯楽活劇的な感じですね。

飯島
純粋に人間に惚れ込んだ、という設定も面白いんじゃないかと。

石川
時代設定的には、ガマとか出てくるとなると－
飯島
そこまで考えていなかったんですが、江戸時代くらいかな、とは思ってます。児雷也的な。侍時代劇というとやっぱり忍者が浮かんできて、忍者をそのまま描くのもアレだったので、その要素としてガマを入れ込んでみた感じです。最初は女性の方が使い魔として使っているイメージだったんですけど、描いているうちに何か倒してる絵になってしまいました。

石川
女性も戦士の一人というイメージですよね。
これは味方なんですか？

飯島
そうですね。

石川
TV版デビルマンのイメージというとやはり侍は変身するんでしょうか？

飯島
そうですね。このままだと日常生活できませんから（笑）

石川
もう一つのパターンとしては「アラジンと魔法のランプ」にように「召喚」という手法もあると思うのですが、そちらではなく？

飯島
普段は普通に生活してる感じですね。

石川
普段は普通に優しい彼氏と彼女といった感じかもしれないですね。女性の方は普段絶対キツくてツンデレ的に思えるから、そうすると男の方は普段は女の子の尻に敷かれているような弱そうなサムライが変身するような感じなんですかね。

飯島
そうですね、普段は生活力がなさそうな。

石川
この女性が選んだ時点で生活力がなさそうな気がしますよね。

飯島
普段は人間に成りすましていて、戦う時に本性を表すくらいの感じで考えています。

石川
バックストーリーとか何か考えていらっしゃいますか？

飯島
正直背景的なことは何も考えていなかったんですよ。イメージだけで描いたところがあって。

石川
背景に般若心経が描かれていますよね。これも飯島さんご本人がお描きになったとか。

飯島
元々は違うモチーフの背景を考えていたんですけど、色々とあって使えず･･･。ゴンゾさんから般若心経というアイディアをいただいて、
あ、それも面白いな、と思って。それと般若心経という東洋的なものと、悪魔という西洋的なものの融合というのもイメージとしてありました。でも般若心経の内容的なところというよりは、イメージ的なところに惹かれた感じですかね。

石川
タイトルの「無聊桃源」（ムリュウトウゲン）
Avalon　なのですが、ここが侍の出身地、ということなんでしょうかね？

飯島
それでもいいですし、目指している場所でもいいかもしれないですね。
逆に人間から見るとユートピアっぽいけれど、実は結構異界だった、というのでもいいですし。

石川
アヴァロンというタイトルはいいと思います。
これが出てくるアーサー王物語って、ある意味侍っぽい世界じゃないですか。それもここに登場する騎士って、魔法が存在する世界観の古い騎士なんですが、侍とか忍者も外国人から見ると現実的な存在じゃないので。
ちなみに当時オランダとかが落ち武者を雇って舳先に立たせ、海賊行為を行う際の切り込み役として使っていたそうで、彼等には怖い存在のようですよ。最強の戦士として。
正にこのイラストはそうした外国人から見た侍のイメージを体現していると思います。

飯島
キーワードの一つの「天叢雲剣」なのですが、英訳するとストームブリンガーになると思うんですよね。有名なファンタジー作品に出てくる剣の名前なんですが、その作者がイギリス人ということもあり、アヴァロンと呼応する部分もあるかも知れません。

石川
この二人に声が付くとしたら、イメージする声優さんっていますか？

飯島
侍の方は津田健次郎さんですかね。渋い感じで。女性の方はあまりイメージ湧かないんですが、あまりアニメアニメしていない方が。
洋画系の方とか･･･
今時のアニメのキャピ声じゃないですね。
沢城みゆきさんとかでしょうかね。

石川
桃井かおりっぽい気がします！
女性の年齢はどのくらいなんでしょうかね？

飯島
20代後半くらいにしておきましょうか。

石川
お姉さんキャラで、かわいい男の子を侍らせて。実はそれが悪魔だった、とか。ますます桃井かおりが合いますね。
沢城みゆきさんに、桃井かおり風に演じてもらいましょう！


"◯We are pleased to present the content of a previous conversation between animator Hiroya Iijima, who served as character designer and chief animation director for the Emmy Award-winning "Afro Samurai," and Shinichiro Ishikawa, president of Gonzo Inc. Please take a look.
 
 Ishikawa
 We only ordered an illustration of a samurai, but how did you come up with this concept?
 
 Iijima.
 I wanted to do a period piece, and since most of the anime was set in the Sengoku period or the end of the Tokugawa shogunate, I wanted to create a real period piece in a real period style world, where the characters are samurai rather than warlords, but in fact they are demons. Also, the concept was based on the TV version of Devilman, in which the demons are turned over.
 
 Ishikawa
 It certainly feels like Devilman's inspiration, doesn't it?
 
 Iijima.
 When people think of Devilman, they tend to focus on the harder comic book version, which is of course complete in its own way, but it is like the TV Devilman I watched as a child.
 
 Ishikawa.
 It's more like an entertaining action movie.
 
 Iijima.
 I thought it would be interesting to set up a purely human love affair.
 
 Ishikawa.
 In terms of the period setting, if toads and such were to appear--Iijima.
 I hadn't really thought that far back, but I'm thinking of the Edo period. Like "Kodakuya". When I thought of a samurai period drama, ninja came to mind, and since I didn't want to portray ninja as they were, I added toads as an element of that. At first, I had the image of a woman using a toad as a messenger, but as I was drawing it, I ended up with a picture of a toad defeating something.
 
 Ishikawa.
 I imagine that the woman is one of the warriors, isn't she?
 Is this an ally?
 
 Iijima.
 Yes, it is.
 
 Ishikawa.
 When you think of the TV version of Devilman, do you still think of the Samurai as transforming?
 
 Iijima.
 Yes, that's right. I can't live my daily life as it is (laughs).
 
 Ishikawa.
 I think another pattern is the "summoning" method like in "Aladdin and the Magic Lamp", but not that one?
 
 Iijima.
 It's like a normal life.
 
 Ishikawa.
 It might be like a normal, gentle boyfriend and girlfriend. The woman usually seems absolutely harsh and tsundere-like, so then the guy is like a weak samurai who is usually on the girl's backside and transforms.
 
 Iijima.
 Yes, they usually seem to have no life force.
 
 Ishikawa.
 It seems to me that this woman is not capable of making a living when she chooses to do so, doesn't it?
 
 Iijima.
 I think of them as usually pretending to be human, just enough to show their true nature when they fight.
 
 Ishikawa.
 Do you have a back story or something in mind?
 
 Iijima.
 To be honest, I didn't think about anything in terms of background. I just drew the images.
 
 Ishikawa.
 The Hannya Shingyo (Heart Sutra) is drawn in the background, right? I heard that this was also drawn by Mr. Iijima himself.
 
 Iijima
 Originally, I had a different motif for the background, but due to various reasons, I could not use it.... Gonzo gave me the idea of the Heart Sutra.
 I thought, "Oh, that's interesting, too. I also had an image of a fusion of the oriental "Heart Sutra" and the western "Devil". But I guess I was more attracted by the image than the content of the Heart Sutra.
 
 Ishikawa
 The title "Mulyutougen" ("Labyrinth of Peaches")
 Avalon...does this mean that this is where the Samurai are from?
 
 Iijima.
 That would be fine, or maybe it could be the place you are aiming for.
 On the other hand, it could be a place that looks like a utopia from the human point of view, but is actually quite a different world.
 
 Ishikawa.
 I think the title "Avalon" is a good one.
 The King Arthur stories in which this appears are in a sense a samurai-like world. The knights in this story are old knights in a world where magic exists, but samurai and ninja are not realistic to foreigners.
 Incidentally, it is said that in those days, the Dutch used to hire fallen warriors to stand in the bowels of their ships and use them as cut-throats for piracy, so they seem to be scary. As the strongest warrior.
 I think this illustration embodies the image of Samurai from the foreigners' point of view.
 
 Iijima
 One of the key words is "Ama-no-Murakumo Sword," which I think translated into English would be "Stormbringer. It is the name of a sword that appears in a famous fantasy work, and since its author is British, there may be some correspondence with Avalon.
 
 Ishikawa.
 If these two were to be voiced, is there a voice actor you would imagine?
 
 Iijima.
 I think Kenjiro Tsuda is the samurai. He seems a bit bitter. I can't really imagine a female character, but I'd like one that is not too animated.
 Maybe a western type...
 It's not the cappable voice of today's anime.
 Maybe Sawashiro Miyuki.
 
 Ishikawa
 I have a feeling that sounds like Kaori Momoi!
 How old are the women?
 
 Iijima.
 Let's say late 20s.
 
 Ishikawa.
 She is a big sister character, and she has a cute boy as her maid of honor. In fact, it was a demon, or something. Kaori Momoi would fit the role even better.
 Let's have Miyuki Sawashiro play the role in the style of Kaori Momoi!

石川
 こちらからは侍のイラストとだけ発注させていただいたのですが、どのような発想でこのコンセプトに至ったのでしょうか？
 
飯島
 時代物をやりたかったというところがあって、アニメだと戦国か幕末が多かったので、本当の時代劇 風の世界観の中で、武将というよりは侍という感じなのだけれど、実はそいつが魔物だったら、的な ところが一つ。あとTV版のデビルマンでやっていた、魔が寝返っている的な設定がコンセプトというか。
 
石川
 確かにデビルマンのインスピレーションと言うか、感じますよね。
 
飯島
 デビルマンというとどうしても漫画版のハードな方が取り上げられるんですが、あれはあれでもちろ ん完成されているのですが、子供の頃見ていたTVのデビルマン的な感じで。
 
石川
 もっと娯楽活劇的な感じですね。
 
飯島
 純粋に人間に惚れ込んだ、という設定も面白いんじゃないかと。
 
石川
 時代設定的には、ガマとか出てくるとなると－
 
飯島
 そこまで考えていなかったんですが、江戸時代くらいかな、とは思ってます。児雷也的な。侍時代劇 というとやっぱり忍者が浮かんできて、忍者をそのまま描くのもアレだったので、その要素としてガ マを入れ込んでみた感じです。最初は女性の方が使い魔として使っているイメージだったんですけ ど、描いているうちに何か倒してる絵になってしまいました。
 
石川
 女性も戦士の一人というイメージですよね。
 これは味方なんですか？
 
飯島
 そうですね。
 
石川
 TV版デビルマンのイメージというとやはり侍は変身するんでしょうか？
 
飯島
 そうですね。このままだと日常生活できませんから（笑）
 
石川
 もう一つのパターンとしては「アラジンと魔法のランプ」にように「召喚」という手法もあると思う のですが、そちらではなく？
 
飯島
 普段は普通に生活してる感じですね。
 
石川
 普段は普通に優しい彼氏と彼女といった感じかもしれないですね。女性の方は普段絶対キツくてツン デレ的に思えるから、そうすると男の方は普段は女の子の尻に敷かれているような弱そうなサムライ が変身するような感じなんですかね。
 
飯島
 そうですね、普段は生活力がなさそうな。
 
石川
 この女性が選んだ時点で生活力がなさそうな気がしますよね。
 
飯島
 普段は人間に成りすましていて、戦う時に本性を表すくらいの感じで考えています。
 
石川
 バックストーリーとか何か考えていらっしゃいますか？
 
飯島
 正直背景的なことは何も考えていなかったんですよ。イメージだけで描いたところがあって。
 
石川
 背景に般若心経が描かれていますよね。これも飯島さんご本人がお描きになったとか。
 
飯島
 元々は違うモチーフの背景を考えていたんですけど、色々とあって使えず･･･。ゴンゾさんから般若心経というアイディアをいただいて、
 あ、それも面白いな、と思って。それと般若心経という東洋的なものと、悪魔という西洋的なものの 融合というのもイメージとしてありました。でも般若心経の内容的なところというよりは、イメージ 的なところに惹かれた感じですかね。
 
石川
 タイトルの「無聊桃源」（ムリュウトウゲン）
 Avalon　なのですが、ここが侍の出身地、ということなんでしょうかね？
 
飯島
 それでもいいですし、目指している場所でもいいかもしれないですね。
 逆に人間から見るとユートピアっぽいけれど、実は結構異界だった、というのでもいいですし。
 
石川
 アヴァロンというタイトルはいいと思います。
 これが出てくるアーサー王物語って、ある意味侍っぽい世界じゃないですか。それもここに登場する騎士って、
 魔法が存在する世界観の古い騎士なんですが、侍とか忍者も外国人から見ると現実的な存在じゃないので。
 ちなみに当時オランダとかが落ち武者を雇って舳先に立たせ、海賊行為を行う際の切り込み役として使っていた
 そうで、彼等には怖い存在のようですよ。最強の戦士として。
正にこのイラストはそうした外国人から見た侍のイメージを体現していると思います。
 
飯島
 キーワードの一つの「天叢雲剣」なのですが、英訳するとストームブリンガーになると思うんですよね。有名なファンタジー作品に出てくる剣の名前なんですが、
 その作者がイギリス人ということもあり、アヴァロンと呼応する部分もあるかも知れません。
 
石川
 この二人に声が付くとしたら、イメージする声優さんっていますか？
 
飯島
 侍の方は津田健次郎さんですかね。渋い感じで。女性の方はあまりイメージ湧かないんですが、あまりアニメアニメしていない方が。
 洋画系の方とか･･･
今時のアニメのキャピ声じゃないですね。
沢城みゆきさんとかでしょうかね。
 
石川
 桃井かおりっぽい気がします！
女性の年齢はどのくらいなんでしょうかね？
 
飯島
 20代後半くらいにしておきましょうか。
 
石川
 お姉さんキャラで、かわいい男の子を侍らせて。実はそれが悪魔だった、とか。ますます桃井かおりが合いますね。
 沢城みゆきさんに、桃井かおり風に演じてもらいましょう！

【特別対談】飯島弘也氏×石川真一郎氏

◯本プロジェクトに参加し、「バジリスク～甲賀忍法帖～」や「戦国BASARA Judge End」など様々な作品を手掛けてきたアニメーター千葉道徳氏と株式会社Gonzoの代表取締役である石川真一郎氏が以前行った対談の内容を公開させて頂きます。是非ご覧ください。（以下敬称略）

石川
私からとっぴょうしもない話をかけられながら、このプロジェクトを受けていただいた理由はなんだったのでしょうか。

千葉
逆によくわかんないからやってみようかな、ということですね。

石川
よくわからないからいやだ、という発想もあると思うのですが、
よくわかんなくてもやってみようと思われたのはなぜだったのでしょうか。

千葉
少なくともマイナスにはならないかな、と。そんなにリスクないじゃないですか。
 出して、それがこの先どうなろうと最悪作業料は入ってくるわけだし。
 珍しい案件なので、せっかくお声がけいただいたので、やってみるのも面白いんじゃないかなあ、と思いました。
 自分で何かプロデュースできるような性分ではないので。

石川
最初にこの絵を考えるときに、何から考えられました？どういう発想からここにステートポイントとして。

千葉
世界観なのかキャラなのか、ちょっとわからないんですけど･･･でも実際フワッしてるんですけども･･･。
今までは基本的に具体的なオーダーを受けてという形でしかやってこなかったので、自分で何かをやってくるような訓練もしてこなかったわけだから、どうしたもんかというところはありましたが、やりながら、最初にお話しした曼陀羅とかだったので、それと最近気になっていたことも含めて、絡めていこうかなというところで。
世界観なのかキャラなのかはわからないのだけれど、どう言っていいのかな、とりあえずは描き進めよう、と。

石川
その中でこういうキャラになった理由と言うのは？

千葉
わかりやすい自分の方向性みたいなものだとは思うんですよ。ちゃんとアニメっぽいというか。古典的なアニメっぽいというか。わりとこういうキャラクターの路線で。最近はちょっと変わってきてもいるんですけど、とりあえずやってみようというところで。

石川
ある意味千葉さんが今までやってきた自分が描いてきたものの方向性をまとめるとこんな感じ、集大成というと言い過ぎかもしれないですけど、そういうイメージ？

千葉
わかりやすいところで。

石川
形にしたという感じ？なるほど。
紫色を結構使っているのは？

千葉
これはコンセプトとして不動明王像ってあるじゃないですか。オレンジとブルーのやつ。あれの色味を気にしたんですよ。

石川
それじゃあタイトル決まっていなかったけれど不動にしましょうか。不動明王だと長すぎて外人にはわからないと思うんで。明王かもしれないけど。

千葉
不動だと漢字でないとわからないですよね。シヴァ神の話とかしたじゃないですか。日本に来て大黒様と不動明王みたいになってるんですよ。大黒様のコンセプトは入れなかったんですけど、色味の雰囲気だけはいただこうかなと思ってちょっと。

石川
作品名と言うよりはキャラクターの名前に近いと思うので、漢字は不動明王で、名前は不FUDOUにするか。もう不動明王にしちゃってその中から。英語化することは絶対ありえないので、固有名詞なので英語にすることはないので。やるなら不動か明王か不動明王かと思うんですが。

千葉
明王は色々いるから

石川
じゃあFUDOUにしましょうか。
漢字は不動明王と書きますか。
英語はFUDOUで不動。にしましょうかね。それじゃあそれで行きましょう。
それからあとこれが今後どんな風に進化していくといいな、と思われてます？
ユーザーのコミュニティもあるので、そういう人からもどんどん意見をもらって、
そのためにキーワードも七ついただいたんですけど

千葉
どうなんでしょうねえ
取りあえずどう見てもらえるかがわからないと何とも言えないんですけど、

石川
このキャラクターっていただいたキーワードだと破壊の中から調和が生まれてくるようなイメージのことばがたくさんあった気がするんですけど。
最後は破魔っていう言葉で終わっていたような。

丹野(Gonzo)
私が最初示した７つのキーワードの中で一つ否定されて代わりに「共存」を入れるとおっしゃったのは、やはり最近の･･･よく見ると背景がウイルスっていう。

千葉
ウイルス的なイメージですけども。

石川
でもウイルスには見えないからね。

千葉
ウイルスと分かるとどうなのか、という。

石川
「祈り」「災厄「共存」「精神世界」「楼閣」「曼陀羅」「破魔」。
英語にしたのは
「フレイアー」「ディザスター」「コイズディスタンス」「イナオワール」「タワー」「マンダラ」。破魔は英語で思いつかなかったので「デーモンバスター」にしたんだ。

千葉
難しいですよね、東洋と西洋ではなかなか。

石川
破魔が一番難しかった。短い言葉にするとまったくどうしようもないのでこれだけ長くなっちゃって残念だったんですけど。

千葉
東洋なんで二元論じゃないから

石川
それがここにも現れてますよね。中間に近いと言うか。両極じゃなくて天国と地獄じゃなくてこのへんにあるという

千葉
そう、グラデーションの中でやっていくという。それをどう捉えてもらえるか。

石川
何が善で何が悪であるか、不明確と言うか

丹野(Gonzo)
このキャラはそもそも一見しただけでは善なのか悪なのかわかりにくいんですけんど
それは何かお考えが。

千葉
お不動さんは基本怖い顔をしてるじゃないですか。慈悲の心を持っていてもでも怖い形相をしていてという、ああいう感じというのか。二面性はあって然るべきだと思うので。今のご時世もそうなんですけど、あんまり表面的な綺麗ごとは何かうさん臭いじゃないですか。

石川
せっかくだから今インタビューしてるって書いちゃおう。どういう返事が返ってくるか。

丹野(Gonzo)
何かこのキャラクターのぼんやりとした設定とかどういう世界観なのかということは特にお考えには？　逆にこれを見たユーザーが色々くっつけてくれるかもしれないですね。

千葉
この横っちょに乗ってるのはお供みたいな。

丹野(Gonzo)
ファンネルというか･･･

千葉
ポケモンじゃないけど。

丹野(Gonzo)
これ浮いてるんですよね。

千葉
そう、自立型の何か。

石川
今決めた名前、ここに書いちゃいますね。
飯島さんと千葉さんの競争は千葉さんが勝ったな、といった感じで。

丹野(Gonzo)
飯島さんもお忙しいみたいですね。

千葉
そうでしょう。また何か割喰った仕事やらされてるんだろうな、と。
･･･線画より後ろのアート工程やってもらった人が大変だったろうな、と。

丹野(Gonzo)
そうですね。Hさんがヒーとかおっしゃってましたが。これも６種くらい描いていただいて、それをそれぞれ２パターンで塗っていただいたんですもんね。

千葉
デジタル使える人であれば自分でやっちゃうんでしょうけど。申し訳ないけど

千葉
健康に過ごしたい、という思いもあるかもしれない。
お札かもしれない。ひょっとしたら。アマビエのお札のような。


石川
なるほど。

千葉
これ書き写して貼っておくとか。

石川
そうね、それ面白いかも。
それ使えるかもしれないな、アニメの中のコンセプトとして。
悪霊退散のためのお札的な位置づけですよね。
まあ不動明王ってまさにそうだもんね。

でも後ろの曼陀羅がうまくはまりましたよね、デザイン的にも。
私もここまでうまくいくとは思わなかった。
曼陀羅なんだけど、ちょっとヨーロッパのエンブレムっぽい。


千葉
何かね、家紋みたいな。


石川
そう、サッカーチーム、プジョーとかルノーとかそんな感じがするので。色もね、結構。
これって個別の色は千葉さんの指定じゃなくて？

丹野(Gonzo)
いえ、千葉さんに。

千葉
指定して。

石川
後ろのやつも？

丹野(Gonzo)
そうです。

石川
全部指定してたんだ。

丹野(Gonzo)
線画は６種類ほど描いていただいてそれを２種類の色で塗ったので12パターンくらいあって、これはここに貼るというのも全部。

千葉
大体でいいですよ、という感じで。
特に配置の意味性はないので。

石川
だとするとこれはシンボルのパターンに使うのもいいかもしれない。

丹野(Gonzo)
拡大するとウイルスってわかっちゃいそうですけど大丈夫ですかね？

石川
拡大しないから。そのままでいいじゃない。
それは僕らが判断することじゃないので。


丹
日本は収まってきてますけど、ヨーロッパとかはまだ。

石川
全然大丈夫だよ。

千葉
居るものだから。
ちゃんとウイルス図鑑とか買ってきて描いたんです。

丹野(Gonzo)
すごい細かかったですもんね。

千葉
それでも正確な本数とかはやってられないので、大体の。
あんまり図案をそのままいただくわけにもいかないから。

丹野(Gonzo)
色を塗っただけだとペターッとしていたんですけど、特効さんが古びた感じを
うまく出して下さって。

千葉
古めの感じは絶対欲しかったんで

石川
シンボルの後ろにパターンとして活かすのはありですね。色味だけでもね。

丹野(Gonzo)
バジリスクのDVD-BOXの時に使った手法だとおっしゃってました。
今回彩色も特殊効果もバジリスクで千葉さんの版権を手掛けていただいていた方に作業をお願いすることが出来たのはよかったです。

千葉
あいつまたこんなの描いてると思われたかも（笑


石川
先ほどのお話を聞いていて思ったんですけど、小林誠さんとかはストーリーをご自分で相当考えていたのですが、千葉さんはストーリーを考えるというよりは感覚的に？

千葉
キャラクターと背景だけですかね。

石川
イメージからということですよね。
このキャラクターで「こういうところだけは絶対に外さないでほしい」
というものはありますか？ストーリー性を作っていくうえで。
それともそこは逆に、いただいた七つのキーワードがうまくはまって、不動明王ということがキープされていればいいという感じなのか、そのへんはどんな感じですか？

千葉
本来荒事一辺倒ではないですよね。
こう見えて怖表現とかそういう方向ではなく。

石川
普段はそうすると優しい面もあるとかそんな感じですか？

千葉
淡々としているんじゃないですかね。
そっちか普通に朗らかな人か、健康的な人か。

石川
声優のイメージとかありますか？こんな人がいいというような。
アニメキャラだから、やっぱり声優のイメージがあった方が。

千葉さん
あんまり詳しくないんだけど

石川
昔の方でもいいですよ。
例えば中田譲治さんとか
･･･ちょっと違う気がしますが。
敢えて違う方向を言ってみたんですけど。
ささきいさおとか。
･･･声優じゃやないけど。

千葉
大昔で言うと、塩沢兼人とか。

石川
確かに！
塩沢兼人っぽい。
僕はその世代だからよくわかる。
もうそれで大丈夫です、わかりました。そういう方向ですね。
もう塩沢兼人お亡くなりでしたっけ？

千葉
はい、亡くなってます。

石川
じゃあやってもらうのは不可能ですね。
塩沢兼人さんわかりました。それを中核に据えて塩沢兼人さんの役をもう一度研究して
ストーリー考えます。残念ながら塩沢兼人さんには声をやってはいただけないけれど。
これがアニメ化する頃にはボカロで塩沢兼人が作れるかもしれませんよ。
このまえNHKで美空ひばり作ってましたからね。

千葉
なんかねえ、まだちょっと早いだろうなって感じでしたが。

石川
もう一歩だったけど、でも近づいたって気がするんで。
もう３年も立てば作った声で演技が出来る可能性があると思います。

丹野(Gozo)
駅の放送とかデパートの放送とか、もう合成音声でやっているところ多いですよね。

千葉
ムラも含めての世界ですからね、芝居はね。

石川
最後のご質問として、オークションにどれくらいの期待値を持たれてますか？

千葉
全然ピンと来ないんでね。怖いところありますけどね。
期待値が低いからなんですけど。ずーっとふわっとしてるんですよ。

石川
まずは行ったところ勝負って感じですかね。

千葉
そうですね。気に入ってくれた人がいてくれればいいんだけどな。
と思ってますけど。

石川
了解です。気合入れてマーケティングしますんで、ご期待いただければと思います。
駄目でも怒らないでくださいね。

千葉
いやいや全然それは。

石川
こればっかりは自分たちで仕組むわけにはいかないところなんで。

千葉
ヤフオクじゃないから自作自演をするわけにはいかない（笑

 What was the reason why you accepted this project despite the fact that I had nothing to say about it?
 
 Chiba
 On the contrary, I don't know much about it, so I think I'll give it a try.
 
 Ishikawa.
 I think some people think, "I don't want to do this because I don't understand it.
 What made you decide to give it a try even if you didn't know much about it?
 
 Chiba.　
 I thought, "At least it won't be negative. It's not that risky.
 I would get the work done, and no matter what happens in the future, the worst-case scenario is that I would get paid for the work.
 Since it was an unusual project, I thought it would be interesting to give it a try since I was asked to do it.
 I am not the type of person who can produce something on my own.
 
 Ishikawa.
 When you first thought about this picture, where did you start? From what kind of idea as a statement point here.
 
 Chiba
 I'm not sure if it's the worldview or the characters...but it's actually fluffy...
 I had never been trained to do anything on my own, so I wasn't sure what to do, but as I worked on it, I realized that it was the mandala I mentioned at the beginning, and that I had been thinking about it recently. I was thinking of involving them in the process, including the following.
 I don't know if it is the world view or the characters, but I don't know how to say it, let's just go ahead and draw it.
 
 Ishikawa.
 What would you say was the reason for this kind of character?
 
 Chiba
 I think it's a kind of easy-to-understand direction for me. I think it's a bit like anime. It's more like classic anime. I'm more along the lines of this kind of character. Recently, I've been changing it a bit, but I'm going to give it a try for now.
 
 Ishikawa
 In a way, you have summarized the direction of what you have been working on up to now.
 
 Chiba
 In an easy-to-understand way.
 
 Ishikawa.
 You mean you have given it shape? I see.
 Why do you use a lot of purple?
 
 Chiba
 This is a concept of the statue of Fudo Myoo, right? The orange and blue one. I was concerned about the color of the orange and blue ones.
 
 Ishikawa.
 Then, I haven't decided on a title yet, but let's go with "Fudo". I think it would be too long for foreigners to understand if it was "Fudo Myoo. It could be Myoo, though.
 
 Chiba
 If it were Fudo, it would have to be in kanji characters. We talked about Shiva, didn't we? When you come to Japan, it's like Daikoku-sama and Fudo Myoo. I didn't include the concept of Daikoku-sama, but I thought I'd just get the atmosphere of the colors.
 
 Ishikawa
 I think it is more like the name of a character than the name of a work, so the kanji should be FUDOU and the name should be FUDOU. I've already decided on Fudo Myoo, and I'll choose one of them. It will never be translated into English, because it is a proper noun, so it will never be translated into English. If I were to do it, I think it would be Fudo or Myououou or Fudo Myououou.
 
 CHIBA.
 There are a lot of different Myoo's out there.
 
 Ishikawa.
 Then let's make it FUDOU.
 Do you want to write the kanji as Fudo Myo'o?
 In English, it is FUDOU, Āryū. I think I'll go with "FUDOU". Let's go with that then.
 How do you hope this will evolve in the future?
 We have a community of users, so we're getting a lot of input from them.
 I received seven keywords for this purpose.
 
 Chiba
 I don't know.
 In the meantime, I can't say anything until we know how people see us.
 
 Ishikawa.
 I think there are many keywords for this character that suggest the image of harmony being born out of destruction.
 It seemed to end with the word "destroy".
 
 Tanno (Gonzo)
 Of the seven keywords I initially indicated, you denied one and said you would put "coexistence" instead, which is still a recent ... if you look closely, the background is a virus.
 
 Chiba
 It's a viral image, though.
 
 Ishikawa.
 But it doesn't look like a virus to me.
 
 Chiba.
 They say, "What if we know it's a virus?
 
 Ishikawa.
 Prayer, disaster, coexistence, spiritual world, tower, mandala, and broken demon.
 The English words are.
 Flayer," "Disaster," "Coise Distance," "Inaowal," "Tower," and "Mandala." I couldn't come up with an English word for "Demon", so I went with "Demon Buster".
 
 Chiba.
 It's difficult, isn't it, to do so in the East and in the West.
 
 Ishikawa.
 The most difficult was the breaking of the demon. It was a shame that it was so long, because there was absolutely nothing I could do to make it into a short word.
 
 Chiba
 It's the Orient, it's not a dualism.
 
 Ishikawa.
 That shows here, too, doesn't it? I would say it is closer to the middle. Not the two poles, not heaven and hell, but somewhere in between.
 
 Chiba
 Yes, they are going to do it in a gradation. I wonder how they will perceive that.
 
 Ishikawa.

 I was thinking about what you said earlier. Makoto Kobayashi and others had thought up a lot of the storyline themselves, but you, Mr. Chiba, did you think up the storyline more from your senses than from your imagination?

 You mean from the image.
 I want this character to be the only part of the character that I do not want to miss.
 Is there anything you would like to say? In creating a narrative.
 Or, conversely, do you feel that the seven keywords you gave us fit well together and that the character of "Fudo Myoo" should be maintained?

 It is not essentially a rough-and-tumble affair, is it?

◯本プロジェクトに参加し、「バジリスク～甲賀忍法帖～」や「戦国BASARA Judge End」など様々な作品を手掛けてきたアニメーター千葉道徳氏と
 株式会社Gonzoの代表取締役である石川真一郎氏が以前行った対談の内容を公開します。是非ご覧ください。（以下敬称略）
 
石川
私からとっぴょうしもない話をかけられながら、このプロジェクトを受けていただいた理由はなんだったのでしょうか。
 
千葉
逆によくわかんないからやってみようかな、ということですね。
 
石川
 よくわからないからいやだ、という発想もあると思うのですが、
 よくわかんなくてもやってみようと思われたのはなぜだったのでしょうか。
 
千葉
 少なくともマイナスにはならないかな、と。そんなにリスクないじゃないですか。
 出して、それがこの先どうなろうと最悪作業料は入ってくるわけだし。
 珍しい案件なので、せっかくお声がけいただいたので、やってみるのも面白いんじゃないかなあ、と思いました。
 自分で何かプロデュースできるような性分ではないので。
 
石川
 最初にこの絵を考えるときに、何から考えられました？どういう発想からここにステートポイントとして。
 
千葉
 世界観なのかキャラなのか、ちょっとわからないんですけど･･･でも実際フワッしてるんですけども･･･。
 今までは基本的に具体的なオーダーを受けてという形でしかやってこなかったので、自分で何かを
 やってくるような訓練もしてこなかったわけだから、どうしたもんかというところはありましたが、やりながら、
 最初にお話しした曼陀羅とかだったので、それと最近気になっていたことも含めて、絡めていこうかなというところで。
 世界観なのかキャラなのかはわからないのだけれど、どう言っていいのかな、とりあえずは描き進めよう、と。
 
石川
 その中でこういうキャラになった理由と言うのは？
 
千葉
 わかりやすい自分の方向性みたいなものだとは思うんですよ。ちゃんとアニメっぽいというか。古典的なアニメっぽいというか。
 わりとこういうキャラクターの路線で。最近はちょっと変わってきてもいるんですけど、とりあえずやってみようというところで。
 
石川
 ある意味千葉さんが今までやってきた自分が描いてきたものの方向性をまとめるとこんな感じ、
 集大成というと言い過ぎかもしれないですけど、そういうイメージ？
 
千葉
 わかりやすいところで。
 
石川
 形にしたという感じ？なるほど。紫色を結構使っているのは？
 
千葉
 これはコンセプトとして不動明王像ってあるじゃないですか。オレンジとブルーのやつ。
 あれの色味を気にしたんですよ。
 
石川
 それじゃあタイトル決まっていなかったけれど不動にしましょうか。
 不動明王だと長すぎて外人にはわからないと思うんで。明王かもしれないけど。
 
千葉
 不動だと漢字でないとわからないですよね。シヴァ神の話とかしたじゃないですか。
 日本に来て大黒様と不動明王みたいになってるんですよ。
 大黒様のコンセプトは入れなかったんですけど、色味の
 雰囲気だけはいただこうかなと思ってちょっと。
 
石川
 作品名と言うよりはキャラクターの名前に近いと思うので、漢字は不動明王で、
名前は不FUDOUにするか。
 もう不動明王にしちゃってその中から。英語化することは絶対ありえないので、固有名詞なので
 英語にすることはないので。やるなら不動か明王か不動明王かと思うんですが。
 
千葉
 明王は色々いるから
 
石川
 じゃあFUDOUにしましょうか。
漢字は不動明王と書きますか。
 英語はFUDOUで不動。にしましょうかね。それじゃあそれで行きましょう。
 それからあとこれが今後どんな風に進化していくといいな、と思われてます？
 ユーザーのコミュニティもあるので、そういう人からもどんどん意見をもらって、
そのためにキーワードも七ついただいたんですけど
 
千葉
 どうなんでしょうねえ
取りあえずどう見てもらえるかがわからないと何とも言えないんですけど、
 
石川
 このキャラクターっていただいたキーワードだと破壊の中から調和が生まれてくるようなイメージのことばがたくさんあった気がするんですけど。
 最後は破魔っていう言葉で終わっていたような。
 
丹野(Gonzo)
 私が最初示した７つのキーワードの中で一つ否定されて代わりに「共存」を入れるとおっしゃったの は、やはり最近の･･･よく見ると背景がウイルスっていう。
 
千葉
 ウイルス的なイメージですけども。
 
石川
 でもウイルスには見えないからね。
 
千葉
 ウイルスと分かるとどうなのか、という。
 
石川
 「祈り」「災厄「共存」「精神世界」「楼閣」「曼陀羅」「破魔」。
 英語にしたのは
 「フレイアー」「ディザスター」「コイズディスタンス」「イナオワール」「タワー」「マンダラ」。 破魔は英語で思いつかなかったので「デーモンバスター」にしたんだ。
 
千葉
 難しいですよね、東洋と西洋ではなかなか。
 
石川
 破魔が一番難しかった。短い言葉にするとまったくどうしようもないのでこれだけ長くなっちゃって残念だったんですけど。
 
千葉
 東洋なんで二元論じゃないから
 
石川
 それがここにも現れてますよね。中間に近いと言うか。両極じゃなくて天国と地獄じゃなくてこのへんにあるという
 
千葉
 そう、グラデーションの中でやっていくという。それをどう捉えてもらえるか。
 
石川
 何が善で何が悪であるか、不明確と言うか
 
丹野(Gonzo)
 このキャラはそもそも一見しただけでは善なのか悪なのかわかりにくいんですけんど
それは何かお考えが。
 
千葉
 お不動さんは基本怖い顔をしてるじゃないですか。慈悲の心を持っていてもでも怖い形相をしていて という、ああいう感じというのか。二面性はあって然るべきだと思うので。今のご時世もそうなんで すけど、あんまり表面的な綺麗ごとは何かうさん臭いじゃないですか。
 
石川
 せっかくだから今インタビューしてるって書いちゃおう。どういう返事が返ってくるか。

 何かこのキャラクターのぼんやりとした設定とかどういう世界観なのかということは特にお考えには？　
 逆にこれを見たユーザーが色々くっつけてくれるかもしれないですね。
 
千葉
 この横っちょに乗ってるのはお供みたいな。
 
丹野(Gonzo)
 ファンネルというか･･･
 
千葉
 ポケモンじゃないけど。
 
丹野(Gonzo)
 これ浮いてるんですよね。

 そう、自立型の何か。
 
石川
 今決めた名前、ここに書いちゃいますね。
 飯島さんと千葉さんの競争は千葉さんが勝ったな、といった感じで。
 
丹野(Gonzo)
 飯島さんもお忙しいみたいですね。
 
千葉
 そうでしょう。また何か割喰った仕事やらされてるんだろうな、と。
 ･･･線画より後ろのアート工程やってもらった人が大変だったろうな、と。
 
丹野(Gonzo)
 そうですね。Hさんがヒーとかおっしゃってましたが。これも６種くらい描いていただいて、それを それぞれ２パターンで塗っていただいたんですもんね。
 
千葉
 デジタル使える人であれば自分でやっちゃうんでしょうけど。申し訳ないけど

 健康に過ごしたい、という思いもあるかもしれない。
 お札かもしれない。ひょっとしたら。アマビエのお札のような。
 
石川
 なるほど。
 
千葉
 これ書き写して貼っておくとか。
 
石川
 そうね、それ面白いかも。
 それ使えるかもしれないな、アニメの中のコンセプトとして。
 悪霊退散のためのお札的な位置づけですよね。
 まあ不動明王ってまさにそうだもんね。
 
石川
 でも後ろの曼陀羅がうまくはまりましたよね、デザイン的にも。
 私もここまでうまくいくとは思わなかった。
 曼陀羅なんだけど、ちょっとヨーロッパのエンブレムっぽい。
 
千葉
 何かね、家紋みたいな。
 
石川
 そう、サッカーチーム、プジョーとかルノーとかそんな感じがするので。色もね、結構。
 これって個別の色は千葉さんの指定じゃなくて？
 
丹野(Gonzo)
 いえ、千葉さんに。
 
千葉
 指定して。
 
石川
 後ろのやつも？
 
丹野(Gonzo)
 そうです。
 
石川
 全部指定してたんだ。
 
丹野(Gonzo)
 線画は６種類ほど描いていただいてそれを２種類の色で塗ったので12パターンくらいあって、これはここに貼るというのも全部。
 
千葉
 大体でいいですよ、という感じで。
 特に配置の意味性はないので。
 
石川
 だとするとこれはシンボルのパターンに使うのもいいかもしれない。
 
丹野(Gonzo)
 拡大するとウイルスってわかっちゃいそうですけど大丈夫ですかね？
 
石川
 拡大しないから。そのままでいいじゃない。
 それは僕らが判断することじゃないので。
 
丹野(Gonzo)
 日本は収まってきてますけど、ヨーロッパとかはまだ。
 
石川
 全然大丈夫だよ。
 
千葉
 居るものだから。
 ちゃんとウイルス図鑑とか買ってきて描いたんです。
 
丹野(Gonzo)
 すごい細かかったですもんね。
 
千葉
 それでも正確な本数とかはやってられないので、大体の。
 あんまり図案をそのままいただくわけにもいかないから。
 
丹野(Gonzo)
 色を塗っただけだとペターッとしていたんですけど、特効さんが古びた感じを
 うまく出して下さって。
 
千葉
 古めの感じは絶対欲しかったんで
 
石川
 シンボルの後ろにパターンとして活かすのはありですね。色味だけでもね。
 
丹野(Gonzo)
 バジリスクのDVD-BOXの時に使った手法だとおっしゃってました。
 今回彩色も特殊効果もバジリスクで千葉さんの版権を手掛けていただいていた方
 に作業をお願いすることが出来たのはよかったです。
 
千葉
 あいつまたこんなの描いてると思われたかも（笑 
 
石川
 先ほどのお話を聞いていて思ったんですけど、小林誠さんとかはストーリーを
 ご自分で相当考えていたのですが、千葉さんはストーリーを考えるというよりは感覚的に？
 
千葉
 キャラクターと背景だけですかね。
 
石川
 イメージからということですよね。
 このキャラクターで「こういうところだけは絶対に外さないでほしい」
 というものはありますか？ストーリー性を作っていくうえで。
 それともそこは逆に、いただいた七つのキーワードがうまくはまって、不動明王ということがキープ されていればいいという感じなのか、そのへんはどんな感じですか？
 
千葉
 本来荒事一辺倒ではないですよね。
 こう見えて怖表現とかそういう方向ではなく。
 
石川
 普段はそうすると優しい面もあるとかそんな感じですか？
 
千葉
 淡々としているんじゃないですかね。
 そっちか普通に朗らかな人か、健康的な人か。
 
石川
 声優のイメージとかありますか？こんな人がいいというような。
 アニメキャラだから、やっぱり声優のイメージがあった方が。
 
千葉さん
 あんまり詳しくないんだけど
 
石川
 昔の方でもいいですよ。
 例えば中田譲治さんとか
･･･ちょっと違う気がしますが。
敢えて違う方向を言ってみたんですけど。
 ささきいさおとか。
･･･声優じゃやないけど。
 
千葉
 大昔で言うと、塩沢兼人とか。
 
石川
 確かに！
塩沢兼人っぽい。
僕はその世代だからよくわかる。
 もうそれで大丈夫です、わかりました。そういう方向ですね。
もう塩沢兼人お亡くなりでしたっけ？
 
千葉
 はい、亡くなってます。
 
石川
 じゃあやってもらうのは不可能ですね。
 塩沢兼人さんわかりました。それを中核に据えて塩沢兼人さんの役をもう一度研究して
 ストーリー考えます。残念ながら塩沢兼人さんには声をやってはいただけないけれど。
 これがアニメ化する頃にはボカロで塩沢兼人が作れるかもしれませんよ。
 このまえNHKで美空ひばり作ってましたからね。
 
千葉
 なんかねえ、まだちょっと早いだろうなって感じでしたが。
 
石川
 もう一歩だったけど、でも近づいたって気がするんで。
 もう３年も立てば作った声で演技が出来る可能性があると思います。
 
丹野(Gozo)
 駅の放送とかデパートの放送とか、もう合成音声でやっているところ多いですよね。
 
千葉
 ムラも含めての世界ですからね、芝居はね。
 
石川
 最後のご質問として、オークションにどれくらいの期待値を持たれてますか？
 
千葉
 全然ピンと来ないんでね。怖いところありますけどね。
 期待値が低いからなんですけど。ずーっとふわっとしてるんですよ。
 
石川
 まずは行ったところ勝負って感じですかね。
 
千葉
 そうですね。気に入ってくれた人がいてくれればいいんだけどな。
と思ってますけど。
 
石川
 了解です。気合入れてマーケティングしますんで、ご期待いただければと思います。

SAMURAI cryptosプロジェクトリニューアルのお知らせ
 
昨年11月に、アーティスト千葉道徳氏のNFT販売をEthereumのGAS代高騰という理由により中断させて頂いてから4ヶ月が経過しました。長期間お待たせしてしまい大変申し訳ございません。
 
この春、SAMURAI cryptosプロジェクトをリニューアルし、再スタートすることをお知らせします。以下がプロジェクトのリニューアル内容の詳細です。
 
◼️参加アーティストのアート制作方針
今回、小林誠さん、千葉道徳さん、飯島弘也さん、村田蓮爾さんの4名に加え、新たに高岡じゅんいちさん、白亜右月さん、横山愛さんの3名の著名アーティストにご参加頂きました。
 
◼️各作家ごとのシンボルNFT構成
今回、シンボルNFTの構成を以下の通り変更します。
 
レアリティ：なし
発行数：260点
販売用250点+非販売用10点（マーケティング用途）
価格：0.08ETH
samu-rights：36（旧シンボルを考慮し値を調整中）
 
レアリティを一種類に集約し、EthereumネットワークのGAS代高騰時に左右されることがないような価格・バリューとしました。
 
◼️シンボルNFTのデザイン
最後に、今回のリニューアルにあたりシンボルNFTのデザインも一新します。順次公開していきますのでご期待ください。
 
また、上記のプロジェクトリニューアルに合わせてホームページも大幅にリニューアルさせて頂きました。本日より7日間連続で、TOPページにて参加アーティストによるサムライアートを公開していきますのでご期待ください。
